My recent artwork is a continuing exploration of “Aspects of Self” referencing aspects of personality, personal relationships and our relationship with environment.
We all have our inner hopes and desires that are sometimes explicit but frequently masked from the outside world by the visible “self” that we present to others. Our personal relationships are negotiated around individual priorities and we strive to live in peace with each other and with an environment that hopefully brings us comfort and security. In drawing out this theme, I have become engrossed in the variety and complexity of “presentation of self”.
As part of my journey, I have developed a great interest in the integration of painting, drawing, photography and digital art and utilise techniques from these various modes in my work. The recent addition of collage and construction has also assisted in bringing my creations to life.
