Everyone has their own universe inside their mind, most of which no one will ever see. This is what interests me about humans. There is always more to someone than what you can see and this is what inspires my works.
I began my works as portraits of those around me with objects throughout the hair to show some aspects of who they are, expressing interests, what is important to them, aspirations etc. Then I began making the hair the object. I have often used hair as a form of expression and in my works I have used hair as a way to express emotions and thoughts.
I have embraced an illustrative feel to my works. I create pen drawing which I then make into prints. I have found screen printing a very useful technique, as it allows many copies of my images to be produced. This allows me to create layered works which take the images beyond the two dimensions.
There are endless possibilities with art, all you can do is continuously explore.
