As a hairdresser, I’ve worked with hair almost every day for the past 8 years. I love the beauty that it brings, and I see hair as a major part of the appearance of a person and how they present to the world. The natural movement of hair can often be quite mesmerising and Ithoroughly enjoymanipulating hair into different shapes and colours. Using abstract, simplistic and colourful imagery with intertwining and interacting shape and line, I have been able tocontinue this love of hair into my artwork.I am challenging people not to cringe at the sight of hair when it is not attached to their scalp; to stop seeing hair as a totally separate entity once it is removed from the body.
